The brief:

Catapult Greater Pittsburgh is a nonprofit working at the intersection of economic justice, trauma-informed care, and community empowerment. As the organization grew rapidly in reach and recognition, the team needed support defining a clear, cohesive brand voice that could carry across audiences — from single mothers navigating poverty to funders seeking measurable impact. ES Content Creative was brought in to define that voice and tone, establish copy guidelines, and lead the development of powerful monthly stories that reflect the heart and breadth of Catapult’s work.

The narrative arc:

We began by codifying Catapult’s personality — bold, nurturing, and grounded in lived experience — into a full brand book. From there, we transitioned into a long-term content partnership, producing monthly blog posts and newsletters that highlight Catapult’s programming, partnerships, and community impact. Content is based on monthly strategy calls and in-depth interviews with the people at the heart of the story: cohort members, local changemakers, and leaders within the Catapult team. The goal? To tell human-centered stories that honor the complexity of the work, inspire action, and reflect the depth of Catapult’s offerings.

The impact

With a brand voice that’s both empowering and credible, Catapult now communicates its mission with greater clarity and resonance. The stories we’ve created together — from policy advocacy wins to deeply personal journeys toward homeownership — have helped strengthen community ties, celebrate partner contributions, and provide funders with real-world impact they can see and feel. Together, we continue to shape content that reflects Catapult’s vision: a future where equity is the baseline and poverty is no longer a given.
